Hey there, I´m Cindy…

Wife to a handy husband and mama to two of the sweetest little dudes.  I’ve been designing, DIYing and inadvertently flipping homes since 2009 although my journey in home renovation has been lifelong.   My parents had a knack for climbing the housing ranks.   Much to the dismay of my siblings and I, they’d buy the worst house on the block and fix it up while we all lived amidst the chaos.  When it was just right, they’d sell it and start over.  Having lived in more homes than I can even recall, I’m a bit of a gyspy at heart.

Although my life has been a series of moves, renovations and reinventions, my husband, Mike, had more of a quintessential childhood home.  And while we agreed to flip our first home based on my penchant for change and his skillset and toolbox (hello vaulted ceiling of my dreams), we are looking to recreate that forever (ok, ok… that for a long time) home for our family.

Little-by-little, day-by-day, we are working to transform an outdated center hall colonial to a place that feels like us.  Earthy but elevated while remaining lived in and loved.  While we don’t have the budget to tear down to the studs and start fresh, we are rich in grit and imagination.  Expect lots of paint, affordable home finds mixed with the occasional splurge, figuring it out as we go, ever evolving inspiration and even some do-overs because if analysis paralysis isn’t my character flaw then regretting my final decision most certainly must be.

Join us as we document our journey to establish roots and create our home.  We hope that in doing so you may learn alongside us, find inspiration in our successes, and experience connection all the same.

“It is the MAIN EARTHLY BUSINESS of a man to make his HOME, and the immediate surroundings of his home, as SYMBOLIC and SIGNIFICANT to his own IMAGINATION as he can.”
